In September 2009, Lighthouse Publications acquired the assets of Northeast Publications, Inc. Included in the acquisition were the magazines Home Remodeling Cape Cod, the Islands & the South Coast and Golf & Leisure Cape Cod, the Vineyard, Nantucket & Southern New England, and their companion websites, www.homeremodelingmag.com and www.golfoncapecod.com, respectively.
Northeast Publications began publishing the
Cape Cod Travel Guide in 1992. At the time, there was no national publication to represent the destination
to travelers outside of the seven-state region around the Cape &
Islands. The publication was a success and is now owned by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, and produced by Lighthouse Publications.
In 1996, the Cape Cod Meeting & Event Planners Guide was
created to collectively promote the Cape & Islands as a world-class
meeting and event destination for corporations. In 2000, Golf & Leisure Cape Cod, the Vineyard, Nantucket & Southern New England magazine was launched to serve Cape Cod's golf community,
comprised of those who live here and those who visit. The magazine is
currently published bi-annually in print and online. Home Remodeling Cape Cod, the Islands and the South Coast magazine was launched in the Spring of 2005. This magazine serves homeowners in search of qualified
home remodeling contractors, service providers and suppliers to hire.
In September 2007, The Cape Cod Travel Guide, the only nationally-distributed, full-color glossy travel magazine promoting tourism to the Cape and Islands and its companion website, www.capecodtravelguide.com, coupled with the Cape Cod Meeting & Event Planners Guide and www.capecodmeetings.com were sold to the Chamber Of Commerce.
With the Internet becoming
an important viable medium for both our advertisers and reader customers,
Lighthouse Publications has invested heavily on the web and is currently
publishing websites for each of our products.
