LIGHTHOUSE PUBLICATIONS, LLC ACQUIRES MAGAZINES
FROM NORTHEAST PUBLICATIONS, INC.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lighthouse Publications, LLC recently acquired the assets of Northeast Publications, Inc. Included in the acquisition are the magazines Home Remodeling Cape Cod, the Islands & the South Coast and Golf on Cape Cod and their companion websites, www.homeremodelingmag.com and www.golfoncapecod.com, respectively.
Northeast Publications, Inc, located in South Dennis, was founded approximately 17 years ago by Paul Reiss, who is retiring from the daily operations but will continue to work closely with the organization and consult for Lighthouse Publications.
Reiss moved to Dennis in 1992 after working for many years in the publishing industry with McGraw Hill in the New York metropolitan area. He immediately realized the need for a comprehensive Cape and Islands travel magazine and, along with his wife Nancy, launched Cape Cod Travel Guide, which was acquired by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce two years ago. As an avid golfer who enjoys the area’s many courses, he also saw the potential in starting the company’s related publication. As the area remodeling market exploded, Northeast Publications launched Home Remodeling Cape Cod, the Islands & the South Coast as a tool to educate homeowners considering a remodel as well as highlighting the region’s skilled contractors and their recent projects.
Lighthouse Publications, LLC is owned by Russell ‘Rusty’ Piersons. Piersons has worked in the publishing industry for many years including past positions with Reed Elsevier, formerly Cahners Publications, most recently as a vice president running the Boston division for nearly a decade. He has also been a partner with Cape Cod Life Publications for the last six years.
